Warsaw holidays

Destroyed and rebuilt several times through its long and turbulent history, Warsaw is a mixing pot of architectural styles and historical detail. Imposing Soviet-era monoliths tower over Art Nouveau apartments, neoclassical palaces compete with the painstakingly rebuilt red brick buildings of the old town and, among it all, modern skyscrapers rise above the rooftops. On arrival, visitors will discover an energetic and eclectic cultural scene, with plenty of museums, entertainment venues and galleries to enjoy.

The laid-back bohemian hangout of Sródmiescie, with its cafés and boutiques, will prove an excellent place to grab a coffee and watch the world go by. Or, if you want a lazy day by the water, head down to the Vistula River and spend the afternoon sunning yourself on one of the beautiful city beaches. Whatever your preference, with a package holiday to Warsaw with Qatar Airways Holidays, you’re sure to fall in love with this warm and welcoming European capital.

  • Take a walk down the city’s Royal Road – a 10km track that runs from the Royal Palace to the Royal Castle and boasts several excellent museums and attractions along the way.
  • Enjoy the architectural splendour of Warsaw’s Old Town and book yourself on a walking tour to learn a little more about its fascinating history.
  • Visit the Palace of Culture and Science – Warsaw’s tallest building and home to enormous exhibition spaces, museums, theatres, and a multi-screen cinema.
  • Explore the magnificent gardens and waterways of Lazienki Palace – an 18th Century neoclassical delight that attracts visitors from all over the world.

  • When to visit

Warsaw experiences great seasonal shifts in its weather. Winters are generally cold and snowy, with temperatures regularly dropping below freezing. On the other hand, summers are typically warm. Highs of around 25°C can be expected in July. Spring and autumn are temperamental transition seasons, in which the weather is often extremely changeable. However, Warsaw is one of Europe’s driest capitals and rain is never too much of a concern for visitors.
