Best time to travel
With hot summers and cool winters, the best time to travel to the city is during June and July, when the rainfall is at its lowest. Temperatures range from 21-28°C during the summer months, and down to around 7-12°C during the winter. Spring and autumn see temperatures that are in the low to mid-20s, making out-of-season trips to the city a great way to dodge both the heat and the crowds of high summer. Snow is very rare, and you’ll rarely see the thermometer dip anywhere near freezing, even during December and January.
Travelling to Dubrovnik
Dubrovnik Airport (DBV) is around 20km to the south of the city, with excellent transport links to and from the airport to the central hotels. Getting around
The best way to explore the Old Town is on foot, although fully expect to get lost at least once as it’s a maze of tiny streets and alleyways. The city is pedestrianised, but be aware that some of the streets are quite steep. If you have mobility issues you may want to bear this in mind and plan your sightseeing accordingly. Outside the Old Town, the best way to get around is by bus. To explore further afield, car rental firms have offices throughout the city, including at the airport.
