Important Information

  • Please do not book a “Welcome Home Package” until you have read all of the information on this page, you have approval to travel to Qatar, and you know what type of quarantine you will be required to complete.
  • There is a daily limit on arrivals entering Qatar and demand is extremely high.
  • If you are searching for availability and no hotels are displayed, it is most likely that the daily arrivals limit has been reached. You will need to choose another date.
  • Discover Qatar are not involved with the Exceptional Entry Permit process and are unable to assist with any queries about your certificate.
  • Once a booking is confirmed, amendments to quarantine hotel packages cannot be made. Once you have made your booking it is non-refundable and the dates cannot be amended*. Please therefore do not book your quarantine package until you are sure that the details are correct.
  • * The only exception to this condition is if your airline cancels your flight, in which case you will be eligible to amend the dates of your booking once only. Any new quarantine package booked will be subject to availability and the daily arrival limit. Any differential on the package prices will be payable.

For Qatari Nationals Only

For Qatari Nationals Only If you are a Qatari national and are unable to find availability for quarantine packages online, please email us at DQWelcomeHomeQatari@qatarairways.com.qa. Emails are monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and we will endeavor to respond within 12 hours of receipt of the email request.

  3. Check availability for your confirmed flight.
  4. Book your quarantine package hotel.
  5. Book your flight.
  6. Ensure you have copies of your Exceptional Entry Permit and your Discover Qatar Hotel Voucher, as well as your flight documents when you check-in for your flight. If you cannot produce these documents, you may not be able to board your flight. Dates for your arrival and your hotel check-in must match.

Exemptions for QUI holders from the Exceptional Entry Permit process

Non-Qatari passengers are exempted from the Exceptional Entry Permit requirement irrespective of their nationality or origin if they are sponsored by a Qatari Company and the owner of the company (Qatari national) is traveling with them to Doha on the same flight.

There are no restrictions to the number of passengers that can travel with the Qatari company owner. The owner of the company should hold a Commercial Registration (CR) which states the owners name. The sponsor name mentioned on QID of the non-Qatari passengers should match the company name in order for the above exemption to apply.

Quarantine requirements will still apply to all members of the travelling party, and will be determined by the country from which the flight departs and whether it is included as a ‘Covid Low Risk Country’ or not. Please see MOPH website for the current list.

Unaccompanied minors

  • Unaccompanied minors under the age of 18 at the date of check-in will be given an exception upon arrival in Doha and allowed to quarantine at home
  • They must have an Exceptional Entry Permit
  • They do not need to have a valid Hotel booking to be able to travel

Before making your booking, please ensure you read all of the information below to ensure that you understand the booking terms and conditions.

Please also be aware that if you qualify to self-quarantine at home, if your preference is to book a self-funded quarantine package in a hotel, this is permitted.

Eligibility - Who is eligible to return to/enter Qatar, on which dates, and under what conditions.

Who needs to go into quarantine upon arrival into Qatar, and can I self isolate or book my own hotel?

Depending upon your country of origin, you will either be required to self-isolate at home for a period of 7 days, or go into a self funded quarantine for 7 days, followed by 7 days self-isolation at home. If you cannot self-isolate from home, you can alternatively book a 14 night welcome home quarantine package instead.

If your preference is to enter self-funded hotel quarantine instead of self-isolation at home, this is permitted. If you require 7 days self-funded quarantine package, you will need to make your booking from this page.

All permitted arrivals into Qatar must download and register for the Etheraz App before arrival. The following is a summary of who is currently permitted to arrive into Qatar and what quarantine conditions apply (subject to change so please check our FAQ’s on a regular basis for updates)

For Qatari Nationals, their travel companions, those with a Permanent Resident Card or those with approved entry, returning to Doha from 15 June – 31 December:

All travelers departing from Qatar will need to book and pay for one of the approved quarantine hotel packages, which must be booked before departure from Qatar, if the return date is planned on or before 31 December, and the exceptions listed below are not satisfied

Check in at HIA will not be permitted without a confirmed quarantine reservation, if arrival back into Qatar is before 31 December and the return country is not on the list of low risk countries, and one or more of the exceptions below are not satisfied.

Eligible travelers currently outside Qatar will also need to book and pay for one of the approved quarantine hotel packages. The mandatory self funded quarantine period is 7 days, followed by 7 days self-isolation at home, if arriving back into Doha on or before 31 December from any country not on the list of low risk countries or if not eligible for home quarantine. Bookings can be made at Qatar Airways Holidays in partnership with Discover Qatar. Only Qatari Nationals, their travelling companions, those with a Permanent Resident Card or other eligible Visa holders, will be permitted to arrive into Qatar before 1 August 2020.

If you plan to travel from a low risk country, you need to have been in that country for at least 1 week before you will be allowed to travel to Qatar and home quarantine. If you have not been in that country for 1 week you will be considered to have travelled from a non-low risk country and will be required to enter self funded quarantine for 7 days, followed by 7 days self isolation at home.

If your preference is to enter self-funded hotel quarantine instead of self-isolation at home, this is permitted. If you require 7 days self-funded quarantine package, you will need to make your booking from this page.

For GCC Nationals and their travel companions

Nationals of GCC countries are allowed to enter state of Qatar using their passports under same conditions as Qatari Nationals according to the country they are travelling from. Their sponsored companions who are holding Qatari resident permit are also allowed to return to Qatar without the need for an exceptional entry permit, as long as they are travelling with their sponsors on same flight.
