Day Bundala National Park
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Check out from the hotel and proceed to Yala (journey of 202 kms, 3 hours 45 minutes drive approx.).
  • En route visit Bundala National Park which is a unique area. The thorny scrub jungle is home to spotted deer, the rare pangolin and the playful grey langur monkey. A walk along the beach at dawn reveals unusual tracks in the sand. The picturesque lagoons and inter-tidal mud flats are alive with flashes of brilliant colour as wintering birds arrive to rest and feed.This park is the world at the edge where the land, the sea, and the wetlands meet.

Day Yala National Park

  • Proceed to Yala National Park. Spreading into a vast 1259 Km2 Yala - with its glory spinning around vast grasslands, shrubs, tanks and dunes - rightfully is the heartland of wildlife in Sri Lanka. As your jeep rumble through the giant gates of Yala, you are not only stepping into the most visited national park in the country, but also the lands of a civilization which thrived during the reign of Sri Lankan kings. You name it, and Yala has it! Its usual inmates cover herds of elephant, sloth bear, spotted deer, jackal, extensively populated birdlife as well as the highest density of leopards in the world that garnish the park to be one of the finest destinations in the country.

Day Udawalawe National Park
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • In the morning visit Udawalawe Elephant Transfer Home which is a facility within Udawalawe National Park in Sri Lanka that was established in 1995 by the Sri Lanka Department of Wildlife Conservation. Its primary objective is to rehabilitate orphaned elephant calves for ultimate release back into the wild. Sri Lankan elephants are an endangered species and their survival in their natural habitats is threatened due to human activities.
  • Proceed to Udawalawe National Park. Udawalawe National Park lies on the boundary of Sabaragamuwa and Uva Provinces, in Sri Lanka. The national park was created to provide a sanctuary for wild animals displaced by the construction of the Udawalawe reservoir on the Walawe River, as well as to protect the catchment of the reservoir. Udawalawe is an important habitat for water birds and Sri Lankan Elephants. It is a popular tourist destination and the third most visited park in the country.

Day Colombo

  • Check out from the hotel and proceed to Colombo (journey of 195 kms, 3 hours 43 minutes drive approx.).
  • En route do a city tour in Galle which was once the chief port of Ceylon and is a town rich in history. It was the center of the Dutch regime in the 17th century and the majestic Galle Fort (spanning 90 acres) bears testimony to this fact. The city of Galle is one of the well preserved colonial-era cities in Southeast Asia and has been declared a 'World Heritage Site'.
  • Proceed to Balapitiya.
  • En route you can opt to do a river safari in Madu River, a shallow water body in southwest Sri Lanka, which enters the sea at Balapitiya. During the river safari, visit uninhabited islands and a cinnamon plantation where you could get an insight into typical rural life.
  • Proceed to Colombo.
