Birding, Chimps and Wildlife Safari - 6 Days

Day Karibu Entebbe
  • Welcome to Entebbe, the gateway to Uganda.
  • Upon arrival at the International Airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. (a journey of 6.1 kms, 10 mins drive approx.).
  • Rest of the day is at leisure. 
  • Overnight stay at your hotel in Entebbe.


Uganda is a country with outstanding natural scenery and a rich mosaic of tribes and cultures. “The Pearl of Africa” has sapphire blue lakes, enchanted forests, friendly people and phenomenal wildlife experiences. Journey to a place where the East African savannah meets the West African jungle.

Home to almost half of Africa’s entire bird species, the famous "Big Five" animals and one of man’s closet relative, the chimpanzee. (sharing between 95 and 98 percent of DNA with humans and use tools to achieve their goals, laugh with one another and form social groups). 

Day Kibale National park
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Check out from your hotel.
  • Depart for Kibale National Park (Transport in a Safari 4x4 Land cruiser, a journey of 336 kms, 5 hours and 14 minutes drive approx.). 
  • The park is said to be home to one of the highest density of primates in Africa. Although the highlight of the park is the habituated chimpanzees, the treetops are alive with all manner of monkey including: red-tailed monkey, L’Hoest's monkey, grey-cheeked mangabey, red colobus and black, white colobus monkeys and 300 bird species plus an incredible 250 species of butterflies are all spotted here. Visitors can look forward to chimpanzee trekking, birding tours and guided nature walks. 
  • Late afternoon, You can opt to visit the Bigodi swamps or take hikes around the crater lakes ( If time permits). 
  • Dinner and overnight stay at Primate Lodge, Kibale. 
Day Chimpanzee trekking
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Our driver guide will transfer you to the chimpanzee trekking point for a briefing to start your trekking.On meeting the Chimpanzees, you are allowed an hour with them. Also along the way enjoy the guided nature walks and the paradise with different monkey species, birds and butterflies.
  • Return to the base, where your driver will be waiting to take you for a quick lunch and for the check–out from the lodge. 
  • Proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park.(a journey of 117 kms, 3 hours drive approx.).
  • Dinner and overnight stay at Katara Lodge or similar.
Day Queen Elizabeth National Park
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • The driver guide will pick you up and take you for a game drive .
  • Queen Elizabeth National Park has volcanic craters, grassy plains, tropical forest and lakes connected by a channel inhabited by abundant hippos, several mammals and 606 different bird species including the peculiar shoebill and the endless Ishasha plains whose fig trees hide lions ready to pounce on herds of unsuspecting Uganda kob.
  • Return to the lodge for lunch.
  • Late evening, enjoy more game drives.
  • Dinner and overnight stay at Katara Lodge or similar.
Day Boat cruise and Equator stopover
  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • You will be taken for a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. The Kazinga Channel alone is said to contain one of the world's largest concentration of hippos, and other wildlife includes buffalo, the rare aquatic sitatunga antelope, giant forest hog, Uganda kob, Defassa waterbuck and elephants.
  • Return to the lodge for check-out.
  • Depart to head back to Entebbe with a stopover at the equator. (You can stand in both the northern and southern hemisphere at the same time).
  • Dinner and overnight stay at Karibu Guest house or similar.  
Day Departure
  • Breakfast at leisure.
  • Check-out from the Guest house.
  • Transfer to the airport to board your Qatar Airways flight. 
  • Depart Uganda with great memories.
