Hiking in Georgia - 8 Days

Day Arrive in Tbilisi
  • Welcome to Tbilisi, the vibrant city of Georgia. 
  • Upon arrival, meet our representatives who will then guide you to the transfer. 
  • Transfer to the hotel by private vehicle. 
  • Check in to the hotel (For customers arriving by early morning flights, would need to book the previous night at an additional cost in order to avail check-in upon arrival at the hotel).
  • Rest of the day at leisure. You can explore the city on your own.
  • Overnight stay at your hotel in Tbilisi.
Day Transfer to Lechkhumi region
  • Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel. 
  • At 09:00hrs - check out of the hotel and proceed for a private transfer to Lechkhumi. 
  • Sightseeing day will begin with a visit to the ancient capital of Georgia, Mtskheta. Mtskheta is one of the most ancient cities of Georgia, references to which date back to the 5th century BC.
  • You will visit Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (XI century), in which the chiton of the Lord is kept, the cloak of the Old Testament prophet Elijah and the life-giving Dzelitshoveli cross , made of the cross on which they crucified Jesus Christ, and the relics of the Apostle Andrew the First-Called. No wonder the city of Mtskheta is called the second Jerusalem.
  • After that, you will rise to the monastery of Jvari (6th c.), Towering above the city. According to the legend, this temple was erected above a cedar stump that exuded fragrant oil (miro), under which St. Nino, an enlightener of Georgia, once prayed. Here, as you remember, Lermontov Mtsyri stood on the edge of the abyss, looking thoughtfully at the ancient city built on the confluence of the Aragvi and Kura rivers.
  • Check in to the guesthouse.
  • Overnight stay at your guesthouse in Lechkhumi. 
Day Prometheus cave and Sataplia Nature reserve
  • Relish delicious breakfast at your guesthouse. 
  • The day will start with the visit of Sataplia Nature Reserve. Sataplia Nature Reserve is located 6 kilometers North-West of Kutaisi. Here you can find preserved dinosaur footprints and a beautiful cave complex featuring numerous stalactites and stalagmites.
  • Within the area of the reserve there is a museum and a glass walkway overlooking breathtaking natural scenery.
  • Our next stop is Prometheus cave. Prometheus Cave is located 40 kilometers from Kutaisi near Tskaltubo. The cave is one of the most popular destinations in the region, and includes various types of stalactites, stalagmites, curtains, petrified waterfalls, underground rivers, and lakes.
  • Each cave in the cluster of six differs significantly from each other in scale and the unique shapes of petrified flowstones found within.
  • Here you will also have a chance take a boat tour though an underground lake.
  • Transfer back to Lechkhumi.
  • Overnight stay at your guesthouse in Lechkhumi. 
Day Ghvirishi waterfall, Orbeli Cross and Kulbaki Lake
  • Enjoy an early breakfast at your guesthouse.
  • Today the day will start early in the morning. We will have an off road ride.
  • Main landmarks for today are: Ghvirishi waterfall, Orbeli cross and Kulbaki Lake which is place with high forested mountains around.
  • It is perfect place for walking and relaxing.
  • After tiring but full of emotions day transfer back to Lechkhumi region for overnight at the guesthouse.
Day Khvamli
  • Enjoy breakfast and be ready for another exciting day.
  • Today we will visit Khvamli, a limestone massif in Western Georgia.
  • Khvamli is known as a place where “royal treasures” were hidden and for the series of legends. One of legends is identifying Khvamli as the site of punishment of Prometheus.
  • According to the legend Prometheus was bound, and the vultures eternally fed upon his entrails as a punishment for having stolen the bolts of heaven.
  • Another local legend explains the alternating course of the nearby Verdzistava spring with the movement of an immortal dragon living in the caves of Khvamli. There is also a holiday called Khvamloba celebrated in nearby villages on July 20. 
  • After 4 hours hiking and 3 hours driving we will lead back to the guesthouse for overnight.
Day Rafting
  • Have your breakfast and get geared up for rafting. It is not very difficult, but very interesting.
  • This region is distinguished with its amazing and spectacular nature. During the rafting trip you will have the opportunity to swim in amazing valley, on the river Lekhidari, jumping from a high cliff into the water.
  • After we will continue our rafting on the river Rioni.
  • After exciting day you will have a picnic in the nature, Georgian dishes: Lobiani, local cucumbers and tomatoes, Imeretian cheese and bread and of course, the barbecue.
  • After rafting and barbecue transfer to the guesthouse for overnight stay.
Day Back to Tbilisi
  • Have an early breakfast and check out of the hotel to be transferred to Tbilisi by a private vehicle. 
  • Transfer to Tbilisi and check into your hotel.
  • In the evening you will take a long walk around city, during which you will get acquainted with the main sights of the capital of Georgia.
  • You will see a multifaceted mosaic of Tbilisi life, in which each of you will take the place of not only an observer and a tourist, but also a welcome guest. 
  • On our route, you will visit: the oldest urban area of Abanotubani (the region of sulfur baths), the Armenian church SurbGevork (XIV century), Tbilisi Cathedral synagogue, Tbilisi mosque (XIX century), the city fortress Narikala (IV-VIII century),Bethlehem the street-staircase,the residence of the Patriarch of Georgia, the oldest Anchiskhati Church in Tbilisi (5th century), the Peace Bridge, the Metekhi Church (XI-th century) and the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity (Sameba), the Zion Cathedral (VIII-XIth centuries).
  • Transfer to your hotel for overnight stay. 
Day Depart Tbilisi
  • Have breakfast at your hotel. 
  • Check out of the hotel. 
  • Transfer to Tbilisi International Airport to board your flight back home. 
  • Depart Tbilisi with fantastic memories.
