Available: Daily; Departs Phoenix at approximately 6:30am on Day 1. Returns to Phoenix at approximately 8:30pm on Day 2. No tour departures on: November 24, December 26 – January 9, 2017.
For the East Valley, Mesa, Gilbert and Chandler, guests will meet at the Mesa Hilton, 1011 West Holmes Avenue, Mesa, AZ 85210.
For the West Valley, Glendale, Peoria, Litchfield, guests will meet at selected hotels along the Route 17 Freeway.
Today's tour departs the Phoenix/Scottsdale area at approximately 6:30am for a guided tour of the Sedona area, beginning with a visit to either Montezuma Castle or Tuzigoot National Monuments. The National Monuments represent the ruins of the Sinagua population that inhabited the region over 1000 years ago. Once in Sedona, the DETOURS guide will share viewpoints like Bell Rock, Chapel of the Holy Cross, and other local favorites, along with opportunities for jeep and helicopter tours, shopping and gallery visits. Lunch is not included but the options available are numerous for the guests in uptown Sedona. Guests will be checked into their Sedona hotel at approximately 3:00pm. Guests will be able to explore Sedona on their own following hotel check-in.
Today's guide will meet guests at their Sedona hotel at approximately 9:30am for a drive through Oak Greek Canyon on the way to Grand Canyon National Park. The DETOURS guide will introduce guests to the Grand Canyon at the South Rim Village. After free time at the South Rim Village, the tour will travel along the infamous 30-mile section that winds east along the rim of the canyon, showcasing the best rim views and history along the way.
Before returning to Phoenix, guest will be treated to distant views of the Painted Desert as well as close up views of the Little Colorado River Gorge and Navajo Nation. The Painted Desert is the perfect backdrop for our stop in the Navajo Nation at a prominent trading post. Return time to Phoenix will be approximately 8:00pm.
Guests must provide child safety seats for children 4 years and 40 lbs. (Arizona State Law).
