Highlights / General details
Bike tours in Cambodia are an excellent way of leaving the tourists behind, exploring the real Cambodia and interacting with the locals. Cycling Cambodia you will discover traditional wood and thatch villages that seemingly have remained unchanged for centuries. Witness locals tilling their vibrant rice fields, watch barefoot children herding cows, laugh as chickens scatter at your approach, and exchange greetings as you pass many Khmers on their bikes. You will be viewed with curiosity by the friendly smiling villagers and encouraged on your way by a chorus of 'Hello' from giggling children.
Siem Reap – Banteay Srei Cycling:
Heading out of the town, we cycle on a newly paved road to the intricately carved and well preserved temple of Banteay Srei. On the way, we make stover at the Preah Dark village and the River of 1000 Lingas, locally named Kbal Spean. A view over the riverbed carvings is impressive. We follow these with a visit the Banteay Samre Temple which was adorned with impressive reliefs depicting scenes of Vishunu as well as Krishna legends.
